FOR some years, mobs of immature ravens have been causing havoc in fields, killing and mutilating thousands of lambs.
This year, the problem is particularly widespread the length and breadth of the country. And farmers and vermin controllers are almost powerless to act. What use is a general licence to cull a couple of ravens when they hunt in packs of up to 60?
Scottish National Heritage must, as a matter of urgency, issue licences to allow for meaningful control.
