SO, there will be an elections for the top post at NFU Scotland’s agm meeting in Glasgow, on Monday and Tuesday, February 6 and 7, 2017.
Hats already in the ring for the post of president are current incumbent Allan Bowie and one of the current vice-presidents Andrew McCornick, while two new names have appeared on the prospective vice-presidential list.
And it seems probable that the nominees so far, Martin Kennedy and Gary Mitchell, will be joined by at least one other contender by the time nominations close on Monday, December 12.
While keenly contested, it is certain that the hustings will be conducted in a more seemly manner than the recent one from across the pond!
