Brechin Castle showground once again played host to a busy Angus show last weekend, where the rain just about held off to allow visitors and exhibitors alike to enjoy a bumper show of livestock.
In the cattle lines, it was the days Limousin leader that took the champion of champions plaudits, with Goldies Inchantress from Aileen Ritchie, Tamala, Burnside taking the top award. This two-year-old cow from Aileen's own herd is now Highland Show bound.
Standing reserve to her was the Firhills Jasmine, the Charolais heifer from Jim Muirhead, Firhills, Arbroath.
Over in the sheep, it was a continental day, with the Beltex and Charollais leaders taking the champion and reserve overall.
It was Stuart Wood's Beltex gimmer, Aberdeen Lassie that was overall sheep champion, with the Ingram family of Logie Durno taking the reserve overall with their Charollais tup, which had come through the ranks from the any other breeds section.
The Clydesdale winner, Muirton Melba, from the Clark family at the Muirton stud at Crieff took the overall in the heavy horse ring.
