THERE were smiles galore for Graeme Leggat and son, Mark, when their January, 2014-born Charolais heifer, Bonnykelly Jennifer, was the pick of judge, Christine Roebuck, to lift the champion of champions title at New Deer Show today.

Described by Ms Roebuck as 'a credit to the breed', this daughter of the privately purchased Kersknowe Clansman first stood supreme in the cattle lines ahead of Blair Duffton and Rebecca Stuart's multi-champion commercial heifer, You Beauty.

Also forward for the supreme title was the sheep leader, a Cowal Vogue-sired Texel gimmer from Graeme Knox which was given the nod over Erin and Eilidh Duncan's Charollais champion, a gimmer by Riverdale Noble.

Making up the trio of section leaders in the main ring for the supreme championship was an 11-year-old Irish Draught gelding named GBF Basil from Fiona Menzies which had already lifted the overall horse title.
