REDCASTLE Pretty Amazing Grace proved to be just that when she secured the champion of champion honours for Sandy, Lynn and Kaera Aitken at Aberfeldy Show.

The eight-year-old Clydesdale mare by Millisle Solway Bay is a past Cawdor Cup winner and already has a number of top titles behind her this year, including the championship at Fettercairn as well as the reserve at Kirriemuir.

It was a close call for the supreme, however, as the championship that was judged on a points basis saw only one point place Grace ahead of the commercial cattle and Blackface winners that shared equal reserve.

The first of these was an unnamed 10-month-old Limousin cross bullock from John, Margaret and Craig Robertson, while the other was a £11,000 Midlock-sired two-crop ewe brought out by Billy and Alan Brady for Tay and Torridon Estate.

Also forward for the supreme championship was the Highland pony leader, Alison McLeod's Scarlet of Roisbheinn, as well as the winner of the prime lamb and cross sheep section, a gimmer with lambs from Brian and Jimmy Menzies.
