ALTHOUGH IT was a very wet week leading up to the day of Yarrow Show, the ground remained in relatively good condition, while the day itself managed to stay dry and rather pleasant.
The show committee welcomed a good number of entries in the sheep lines, with the biggest section coming from the Blackfaces.
However, on this occasion, bigger did not mean better, and it was the Bluefaced Leicester which took the interbreed sheep championship.
This came from Alan McClymont, of Kirkstead, Yarrow.
Coming in reserve was Alan Cowens, of Philiphaugh Farms.
For full results, see this week's The Scottish Farmer, out on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
