THE National Sheep Association will hold its Welsh Sheep event on the 16 May next year, at Llwyn Bedw, Talybont-on-Usk, Brecon, on behalf of the Williams family.

Farming in the fifth generation of Williams, Stephen and Lisa, together with their son Luke, will welcome visitors to their 1000 acre enterprise, as well as hill rights of 3000 acres. They run a flock of 3000 hefted Talybont type (Welsh x Cheviot) breeding ewes and a downland flock of Charollais x Tallybont type ewes.

Stephen's father, Godfrey, is also heavily involved with the running of the closed flock, including the family's herd of 70 suckler cows.

“We deal with people on daily basis. The countryside looks the way it does because of farmers. The sheep are the best conservation tool you can have and we really want the public and see how we operate”, commented Stephen.
