AN APRIL-BORN calf won the suckled calf section at LiveScot, on Saturday for Ali Jackson, from Maulscastle, Cummertrees, Annan, on its first time in the show ring.
Black Jack was bought to contest the Dumfries and Galloway YF annual calf rally next spring out of Dumfries market from Gary Bell, from Lockerbie, though he was bred by John McAlister, Wester Thomaston, Stirling.
Reserve was Neil Slack's Rio, a January-born heifer calf by Rossignol and out of a British Blue cross dam.
