With Storm Doris on her way, it was a tense wait for committee members of Westruther Show staging a stockjudging event at St Boswells Auction Mart, where 119 judgers eventually turned up to see George and Sybil Macpherson, Dalmally, put the stock through their paces.
The eight classes included Blackface sheep from Tinnis; Suffolks from Smailholm Mains; North Country Cheviots from Nettlingflats; South Country Cheviots from Stirkfield; Mules from Cammerlaws; Bluefaced Leicesters from Easter Dawyck and Texels and Shetland from Threepwood.
Overall winner was the winner of the open section, Euan Ramage who scored 322 points with the supreme sheep being a Texel from Scott Sandilands, Threepwood.
