GLASGOW City Council’s Chorrach 13 of Pollok, a three-year-old Highland heifer, won the champion of champions accolade at a dry, sunny, albeit chilly Beith Show, much to the delight of visitors and exhibitors alike.

Matt Auld and Mel Sinclair, who attend to the Highland cattle at Pollok Park, brought out this stylish heifer which was selected supreme overall by several of the show judges to include The Scottish Farmer’s deputy editor, Ken Fletcher.

Reserve overall champion was the supreme sheep, a Suffolk gimmer by Pexhill Real Lucky, from William Borthwick, of Auchenraith, Mauchline.

Just pipped at the post in the sheep lines was the Bluefaced Leicester leader, a home-bred tup hogg, from Jim and Alastair Taylor, Lochhill, Mauchline, while James and George Parker McConnell won the champion Holstein honours with Powgree Goodwhone Matilda.
