AN 'exceptional' Jersey cow secured the inter-breed dairy title at Balmoral Show, the same award she won here just last year for the Fleming family.

Potterswalls Action Daisybelle, a fith calver which calved down last September and was paraded yielding 39.8kg at 5%BF and 3.7%P, was adding to her McLarens Cow of the Year title last year.

In reserve was the Ayrshire leader, Sandyford Honest Blizzard which was bought by John and Michael Hunter at the dispersal last September for 3600gns. Champion and honourable mention at last year's Ulster Winter Fair, she calved her fourth in October and was giving 38 litres at 4.6%BF and 3.3%P.

Taking the Holstein title was Steven Robinson's Ortongrange Snowman Alysia, a third calver bought at Beaston for 10,000gns. She paraded giving 55kg havng calved twins on Christmas eve.
