New British Blue breeder, Gillian Scott, took a busy Central and West Fife Show by storm, to win not only her first breed championship but also the supreme beef and overall champion of champions.

Gillian, who is better known for bringing out commercial champions for her father, Gavin from Gateside, led this year's strong line-up with Drumlone Lindsey, a black and white heifer on her first outing that had been bought at Carlisle in January from her breeder, Kenny Veitch.

For the supreme overall, she stood ahead of the top dairy, beef, sheep, goat and Clydesdale winners, selected by the various inter-breed judges who also picked out the overall champion of champions on a points basis.

Reserve overall was the lead Texel, a home-bred shearling ram by Cambwell Trademark, on his first outing from Robin and Nancy Orr and daughter Caroline, Halbeath.

Pat Wilson, led out the top dairy animal for the Wilson family, Carskerdo, Cupar. Their winner was the third calver, Drakkar Helilo, a Holstein on her first outing of the year which took the tri-colour at several shows in 2016.

And, a Clydesdale all the way from Nairn, came up trumps to win a busy section for David Walker and Beverley Brown. This was Hillview Lady Jane, a three-year-old shown by Jim Young and his daughter Charlotte.
