THUNDER, lightening and hailstones all featured at Houston Show on Saturday, fortunately after all livestock classes had been judged.
For the second consecutive year, Tom and Sheena Gatherer, Barnsford, Inchinnan, secured the champion of champions award with their 16-month-old heifer, Barnsford Meadow. A half sister to the couple's 70,000gns Barnsford Ferny, she is by Goldies Eddie.
Young Archie Paterson's Muirhouses-bred Blackface ewe from Middlepark, Saltcoats, took the supreme sheep championship, while Robert Baxter's in-calf Holstein cow from Gibblaston, Bridge of Weir, was dairy champion.
Once again, Alan and Evelyn Campbell from Kilmacolm stood Clydesdale champion with their mare, Rashhillhouse Betty.
