Northsheep again attracted a bumper number of industry stands, and saw the Blackface Sheep Breeders' Association stand, from the North of England area, take the lead amongst the sheep breeds.
Competition in the young shepherd event was as steep as ever, and saw 23-year-old Rob Walker from Brennand Farm, Dunsop Bridge, take the overall for a second time at this event. And in a mirror image of the last NorthSheep staged in 2015, Matthew Emmott, from Wythop Hall, Cockermouth, again came second.
Local lad, Thomas Watson, Fearon, Tow Law, came third in the next generation shepherd competition.
