Lorn Show - cancelled this year as a mark of respect
DUE TO the recent tragic death of eight-year-old Kayla MacDonald, in Barcaldine forest, near Oban, the organisers of this year's Lorn Show have cancelled the event as a mark of respect.
The little girl's family have considerable farming connections in the area and on Tiree – indeed, Kayla had been the top young sheep handler at the recent Tiree Show. Her cousin, Caitlin MacPherson, was injured in the incident, which involved a pile of timber and was in a stable condition in hospital.
The show was due to be held on Saturday, August 5, on Tralee beach, at Benderloch.
