IT WAS a red rosette day for the Arnicle flock at the Cowal Blackface Show, with the Kintyre-based flock winning champion and reserve, six of the seven open classes and also the top group award.
For champion, judge David Murray, Lurgan, Aberfeldy, chose David and Iain McArthur’s one-crop ewe, by an £8000 Nunnerie, ahead of a mature ewe by a £20,000 Auldhouseburn.
Confined champion was a mature ewe from Davie and Jock Jackson, Pole, Lochgoilhead. She is by a £50,000 Pole and out of a ewe by a £24,000 Dalchirla.
Andrew Campbell, Drimsynie, Lochgoilhead, had the confined reserve with a gimmer by a home-bred son of a £14,000 Dalchirla.
