GOLD RUSH, a prize-winning 14-month-old Charolais cross heifer from Blair Duffton and Rebecca Stuart of Huntly and Insch, was crowned Scottish beef champion at Keith Show, on Monday.

Purchased from Dungannon in Northern Ireland, for £3200 from Alan Veitch, she stood champion of champions at Fettercairn and was inter-breed champion at Echt.

Back amongst the cattle, a Simmental bull from the Stronach family at Berryleys, Keith, took the inter-breed beef title. That was Islavale Hogan, a 17-month-old son of Wolfstar Elusive.

Reserve to the Simmy was Powerful Kango, a Limousin heifer from Hendry brothers, Craig and Jack, Heads of Auchinderran, Keith. Purchased as a calf, she is by Haltcliffe Dancer.

In the sheep, a Charollais gimmer from the Duncan sisters, Eilidh and Erin, Barnyards, Clola, Peterhead, took the overall honours, while a Blackface gimmer from Charlie McIntyre and Gemma McIntosh, Upper Croft Na Garn, Boat of Garten, was reserve.
