IT WAS a case of third time lucky for Craigie Show, after the past two shows were cancelled due to poor weather.
This year’s event was staged at a new venue at Langholm Farm, Symington, which saw the dry day attract a bumper entry of livestock.
Taking the champion of champions trophy was the winning Ayrshire cow from Robin Templeton, Pocknave, Kilmarnock.
His Carnell Hyacinth, a third calver, by Carnell Warrior, is giving 55kg per day and was tapped out by judge, Andy Paton, of Caldrongill, Craigie, ahead of five other breed leaders.
Reserve was a Hunter horse from Julie McMaster.
Also forward for the top title was the champion winners in the beef and sheep sections.
Supreme beef was a 16-month-old Limousin cross heifer, named Firefly, from James Hodge, of Dykes Farm, Mauchline. By Roxburgh Gurkha, she was purchased at the Cally Marts calf show in March, from Hugh Dunlop, Holehouse.
Duncan Whyte’s Border Leicester champion, a Clola-bred shearling ram  from Newton Mearns, led the sheep section.
