Encouraging the youth of today to take the reins in the future appears to be a theme across livestock breeds and the Jacob Sheep Society recently hosted a show prep/young handler’s day at Dun-Mor Jacobs, in Linlithgow.
The youngsters were put through their paces learning the valuable skills needed to get their sheep looking at its best in the ring and also how a handler should behave when in the ring.
Given out were National Young Handlers Shields and all youngsters received a certificate for their efforts.
