FORTY classes of cows were entered at the annual West of Scotland Dairy Show, held on Wednesday, October 18, at Craig Wilson Ltd, Ayr.
In all, there were 17 classes, which saw Holsteins, Red and Whites, Ayrshires and Jerseys being shown.
Taking the Super Cow title on the evening was Kilmaurs Admiral Alicia, from John and Hugh Montgomery, of Newlands Farm, Kilmaurs.
Overall champion at Kilmaurs Show for the last three years, she is by Overside Admiral and is out of a previous Kilmaurs Alicia.
She calved her fifth in March, and is projected to produce 13,000 litres this lactation.
Reserve to her was Carnell Hyacinth 105, from the Templetons at Pocknave, Craigie.
She is by Carnell Warrior, and has averaged 9780kg, over her last two lactations.
