IAIN LAMMIE'S aptly named prime cattle champion, Bulldozer, pushed the opposition aside to claim the supreme honours at New Cumnock Show.

The chunky Limousin cross bullock, by Powerhouse Elite out of Iain's former Limmy cross show cow, Bonny Lass, had previously been lightweight bullock champion at LiveScot.

Topping the dairy section was Robert Veitch, of Strandhead, with Ve Tech Daryl Barbie, a three-year-old second-calver by Scientific Daryl, that was third-placed at Ayr on its first outing.

There were strong turnouts of Blackface, Bluefaced Leicester and Scotch Mules in the sheep lines, producing champions for Drumgrange's William McFarlane, Barr's A and A Kirkpatrick and show host John Guild, of the Laight, respectively.

But topping the sheep section was Jim Kennedy, of Lyonpark, with his Ayr champion Charollais, a gimmer which was also champion and overall at Catrine. By Tyman Poundstretcher, she was out of the Carnew-bred ewe that has twice been inter-breed champion for Jim at New Cumnock, as a lamb and as a gimmer.
