PLENTY of exhibitors were turned out for the show, which is now in its second year at the new venue, Langholm Farm, Symington, which is owned by the Baird family.

With the sun beating down throughout the day, there was no risk of the show being cancelled, with it having been rained off in previous years, making the day all that more enjoyable for exhibitors and visitors alike.
Reigning supreme show champion was Robin Templeton, of Pocknave Farm, Hurlford, with his Ayrshire cow, Carnell Snowdrop 368. She is one month calved, and is by Brieryside Thunder, out of Carnell Snowdrop 308.

Doing things a little differently at this show, the reserve champion of champions was awarded to the President's Prize winner, which is awarded to the best Young Farmer's exhibitor at the show. That went to Scott Gray, of the Scrogtonhead Flock, Sornbeg Farm, Galston, who is a member of Crossroads YFC. He was selected for his Texel gimmer, by Clinterty Yuga Khan.

In the beef section, the Wyllie family, of Skeldon Drive, Dalrymple, were given the overall honours, and that was with their Limousin-cross heifer, Mystique, which has had a successful show season so far.

Hosts of the show, Allan and Moreen Baird, lead the way in the Clydesdale section, taking champion for their filly foal, Langholm Bonnie.
