Marie Rose wins at Ayr

The showseason kicked off with Kilpatrick Clydesdale Foal Show, last weekend, which was held at Ayr market and attracted a great turnout of horses and spectators.

Top honours went to Jackton's Mary Rose from the Steel family, of Jackton, East Kilbride. This yearling filly is by the US-bred SBH Phoenix son, Jackton's Discovery, and out of Eden Poppy.

Leading the foals was Charlotte Young's Downhill Heather II, from Hall Farm, Ayr. Bred in Northern Ireland by Alex and Geoffrey Tanner, this filly is by Carnaff Ambassador and out of Garleton Betty. Reserve foal was Robbie Morton's Stobilee Zoe from Stobilee Farm, Cleghorn, Lanarkshire. This home-bred filly is by Mollinsburn Chancer.
