THERE might not be an actual AgriScot event this year, with its attendant show of the very best in dairy animals ... but we've fully bought into the idea of event organisers, Rural Projects' vision of Agr-e-Scot, an on-line version of the real thing.

So, we're going to give our readers the chance to virtually select the AgriScot Champions of the Decade in both the SuperCow and SuperHeifer sections. You get to choose the stand-out animal from the past 10 events – and just like every judge, you get the chance to be right!

It will operate in a similar fashion to our Champions of the Decade for the Royal Highland Show breeds, but will only take into account reader votes. Voting opened on Wednesday 14th October. Please all join in – even sheep farmers can have a go! – for it will be your votes that will choose the eventual overall champions.

Martin Dare, of Rural Projects, said: "It's been a very different year for all of us and that's why we fully support The Scottish Farmer's process to find our Champions of the Decade. We're also going flat out to produce our Agr-e-Scot on-line programme of debate, information and award winners in those categories that we have been able to organise, such as the Innovation Awards and the silage competition. There will be more news on how you can be part of this in the coming weeks in the run up to what would have been show day, November 18."

To cast your votes, click on the buttons below. Then, it's up to you to pick the best out of the 10 presented to you. You will only have one vote in each section, so make it count!

The winners will be announced at Agr-e-Scot.
