AGAIN one of the more popular demo areas at Cereals will be the Syngenta Sprays and Sprayers Arena, where the latest sprayers will be put through their paces.

These will include self-propelled, mounted, trailed, air assisted, and twin fluid sprayers. As well as watching the latest technology in action, you’ll also get the unique opportunity to meet suppliers and compare new products and services.

Around the arena are suppliers of sprays and sprayer technology and Cereals 2019 will also feature drone sprayer demonstrations of the DJI Agras MG-1S – an octocopter designed for precision variable rate application of liquid pesticides, fertilisers, and herbicides.

This aircraft to carry up to 10kg of liquid payload and its intelligent spraying system automatically adjusts its spray according to the flying speed so that an even spray is always applied.

The MG-1 automatically records its current coordinates and remembers its past coordinates as it makes its way across the field. In case an operation is interrupted, for example due to depleted battery or spraying liquid, users can quickly land and resume flight from the last recorded point after changing the battery or refilling its tank. A microwave radar means it can scan the terrain below it in real time to keep a consistent height above crops.
