August is just around the corner and thankfully the summer heat has made up for the wet and cold weather we saw back in May.
You could be forgiven for thinking it is October or November! The temperature has dropped dramatically and it is wet and dreich outside. It certainly doesn't feel like summer is just around the corner.
After that week of heavy snow at the beginning of February, that caught many of us off guard, we have had a relatively calm spell, so I am hopeful that was our winter and we can begin to look forward to spring with warmer weather and longer days.
As the new year begins and day light hours start to stretch, crisp fresh days are welcomed in comparison to the extremely wet few months we had before Christmas.
Now that Christmas is upon us again, it is hard to believe that its the end of another year.
As the end of November approaches, the days are shortening at an incredible rate. Misty, rainy days seem to be something of a trend this year.
September has provided us with some much needed autumn sunshine, enabling us to bring in the harvest with relative ease and despite a few damp mornings, it was still in the shed in good time. All straw is also baled, ready for bedding and feed.
As we head towards September and welcome the autumn change, we continue to have some exceptionally wet weather.
Almost overnight, the days have stretched and suddenly it feels like we’re leaving winter behind.
