IT was the champion pen from the Scottish Texel Club’s show and sale of prime lambs that headed up United Auctions’ sale of 2287 prime lambs at Stirling, last week.
Selected by J Scott, the champion pen from A Cuthbertson, Wester Balgair, topped the sale at £104 while the reserve pen from R Squair, Killernie, made £92.
The sale averaged 176.7p per kg, and outwith the show sold to £100 for both Suffolks from South Landers and Texels from Harviesmailing, as well as 234p for Texels from Balgair.
The 1347 cast sheep reached £138 for Texel ewes from Wester with tups to £90 for the same breed from Lossit.
