DINGWALL and Highland Marts' held its seventh annual Great from Grass on farm sale of 119 rams at Fearn Farm, Tain, on behalf of John Scott and Partners.
Although averages were less on the year and with a larger number sold, a highly satisfactory trade prevailed with a top price of 1250gns paid for an Aberfield shearling.
The 39 Aberfield shearlings averaged £846.04 (-£14.68 on the year), while 35 New Zealand Suffolk shearlings cashed in at £673.80 (-£142.14) and sold to 1200gns.
Texel shearlings levelled at £674.05 (-£148.39) and saw the 40 forward peak at 1000gns on three occasions.
Beltex shearlings (5) averaged £405.30 (-£98.70) and realised 550gns.
