Scottish breeders made their presence felt either as vendors or purchasers at the Southern Supreme Show and Sale of Blue Texels at Worcester, where a top price of 3500gns was achieved.

The event which was judged by Aberdeenshire breeder, Stasa Moyse, Skene, saw her choice of reserve, Caryl's Blues Captain, a tup lamb sell for the second top price of 2500gns. The tup, from Caryl Howell, Llangadog, Carmarthen, is by the 2018 Royal Welsh reserve champion, Dragon Buster and out of a imported Dutch ewe. He sold to the judge, with Stuart and Wendy Hunter, Westhill, Aberdeen, taking a half share.

Another heading north to Aberdeenshire at 1200gns was a shearling ram from Joe Thornley, purchased over the 'phone by J and A Strathdee, Huntly. He is by a Sams tup and bred from the dam of the 18,000gns Joe's Alvin.

A gimmer from Sara Gibbons' Whatmore flock from Brecon, topped the trade at 3500gns selling to Paul and Christine Tippetts, Shifnal, Shropshire. Their purchase is by Whatmore Wasp and bred from a Whatmore Tommy daughter.

Ayrshire-based breeder, David Alexander, Millside, Galston, received 1400gns for a gimmer by the 4000gns Sams Yoyo, from Notts breeders, V and G Bowring, Mansfield. She is out of a home-bred ewe by a Craigalbert ram. Millside also received 1200gns for a ram lamb by a Beili Blues tup, that sold in partnership to DL and BWH Jones, Carmarthesnhire and J Rodenburg, Ceredigion.

The female and overall champion from GA and HM Francis' Pistyll flock from Abergorlech, Carmarthen, made 1650gns selling to K Hawkins, Dunsford, Exeter. She is by an imported Dutch ram from the Werfhorst flock.

The same buyer also bought the male champion and reserve overall, a shearling ram that made 2000gns. This was Glan-Y-Mor Bulldog from Matthew Jones, Talsarnau, Gwynedd, a Turbo Blue son out of the Whatmore Siren daughter Hackney Yoko.
