RODERICK (Rocket) Runciman, Allanshaws, Galashiels, had a field day amongst the North Country Cheviot shearlings, selling the majority of top priced lots to produce the lead flock average at £735.83 for 12.
Dearest at £1200 was Allanshaws Warrior, a Humbleheugh Top Gun son, bred from a home-bred ewe by Penghros Rob Roy. He was knocked down to J Alexander, Gloverstown Road, Northern Ireland.
Just behind on £1100, the flock sold a Shoestanes Silver Star-sired shearling bred from a ewe by Synton Nicknade. The buyers were Messrs Barr, Hallhill, Fife.
Averages: 40 shearling rams, £506.25 (+£48 for nine fewer).
