Charollais sheep enthusiasts from throughout the UK, Ireland and Germany, flocked to Worcester Auction Mart, for the breed's Saucy Sale, where a ewe from Jonathan and Janet Corbett topped the trade at 2500gns.

The ewe, a Boyo Royal Ascot daughter, made up of the final part of the Wedderburn dispersal from Newent, Gloucs, and sold carrying a single lamb to the 22,000gns Ffrwd Top Notch, to Patrick Tully, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Mr Tully also bought her triplet sister, carrying twins to Top Notch for 1800gns, with another Wedderburn ewe in lamb to the same ram making 1700gns to David Roberts from Kenley, Shropshire.

The Ingram family's Logie Durno and Loanhead flocks from Pitcaple, Inverurie, were also in the money with a top sale of 1800gns paid for a gimmer by Logie Durno Regal, carrying twins to Hollylodge Supreme. She was bought by Welsh breeder, James Amphlett from Brecon in Powys.

The Ingrams also sold gimmers at 1350gns and 1150gns, both of which sold across the Irish Sea, to Liam Woods, Co Westmeath and Paul Brophy, Kelliston, Carlow, respectively.

Gregor and Bruce Ingram's Loanhead flock also topped the small entry of ewes at 1150gns, with a Rhaeadr Orlando daughter carrying triplets to Hollylodge Supreme, purchased by Paul Brophy.

Another Irish bid at 1550gns, this time from Stewart Thompson, Co Donegal, was given for a ewe lamb by the 25,000gns Knockin Shockin from the Edstaston Flock of Robert and Jeanette Gregory, Harmer Hill, Shropshire. .

Meanwhile, the Knockin flock of Abbie Moseley sold to 1250 gns for a gimmer carrying a single to Loanhead Titan purchased by Robert Whittaker buying for his Hundalee House flock from Jedburgh.

The Glyn Coch flock of Adrian Davies from Carmarthenshire achieved two four-figures sales; 1,050 gns for a Shamrock Northern Star shearling in-lamb to Wernfawr Stormer which was one of a number purchased by returning Charollais breeder, James Neil from Stichill, Kelso. Another Northern Star yearling was the choice of Nigel Sheldon from Ammanford at 1000gns.

The small entry of ewes peaked at 1150 gns for a Rhaeadr Orlando ewe carrying triplets to Hollylodge Supreme from the Loanhead Flock of Gregor and Bruce Ingram.
