ONLY eight of the 16 catalogued entries sold to new homes at a sale of British Blue males and females at Borderway, where a two-year-old bull form Richard Mowbray's Droit herd from Newtownstewart, Northern Ireland, led the trade at 5200gns.

This second prize winner, a black and while bull which sold to Messrs Baillie, Kirkcowan, Newton Stewart, is the ET result of the Park Organiser-sired Droit Frisky flushed to Dafydd d'Ochain.

The champion from Blair and Shona Comrie's Stonebyres herd near Lanark, followed on at 4000gns when sold to Messrs Coates, Canonbie, Dumfriesshire. Born naturally in February, 2017, out of the Norbreck Black Beauty daughter, Stonebyres Gem, Murphy is by Boherard Cantona.

The Comries also sold Stonebyres Maverick, by Manchester du Bois Remont and out of a Ballygrange Alex daughter, to Messrs Noble, West Linton, Peebles, for 3600gns.

Two females hit 3000gns apiece with the first prize female and reserve supreme, Wyn Jones' Tanat Midnight, the first of those when knocked down to Messrs Falkingham, Goole, East Yorkshire. This January, 2017-born ET is by Tenace de la Praule and out of a Baron du Bois Bauloye daughter in the herd at Henfache, Llanrhaeadr, Oswestry.

Mr Jones also sold a recipient, Tenace de la Praule-sired six-month-old, Tanat Netty, to Messrs Brown, Pickering, North Yorkshire, along with her Aberdeen-Angus cross recipient dam.

Matching that when sold to Messrs Dodds, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, was Roly and Melanie Carr's Homilton Mona, a Colos van Daisel daughter from the herd at Little Bavington, Capheaton. She is out of a Bringlee Carlos-sired cow.
