This Texel shearling from Veltigar, Tankerness, sold for a new centre record price of £2200 to Robert and Hazel McNee, Over Finlarg, Tealing, Dundee, at Orkeny Auction Mart
CENTRE records were smashed at the Orkney Sheep Breeders' Association's show and sale of breeding rams at Orkney Auction Mart, last week, when a Texel shearling from father and son team Dougie and Douglas Paterson of Veltigar, Tankerness, sold for £2200.
Setting a new centre record when sold to Robert and Hazel McNee, Over Finlarg, Tealing, Dundee, was an unregistered shearling from the 200-pure Texel flock.
The overall champion from the pre-sale show was a Texel tup lamb from Robbie Scott, Dawn Cottage, Holm, which sold for £850.
