Averages – Seasons Greetings sale – 10 aged ewes, £590.10; 25 gimmers, £726.18; 12 ewe lambs, £333.37. Millend dispersal – 16 gimmers, £1464.75.

A NEW breed record price for an aged Blue Texel ram of 6000gns was paid at the final instalment of Russell and Gill Watkins' Millend dispersal from Craswall, at Worcester, last weekend.

Star attraction was Hackney All-Gold, a tup bought at the society sale last year for 3400gns which sold at the dispersal to Andy and Janet Carson buying for their Little Whisker flock in Northern Ireland. Their purchase, a son of Beili Blue Peter, is bred from a ewe by Whatmore Vaneer.

The same buyers also bought the top priced gimmer from the Watkins at 3400gns. This was Millend Belle, a Nantyderri daughter that sold scanned with twin lambs to Hackney All-Gold.

The society's Seasons Greetings collective sale was topped at 3200gns for the pre-sale champion, a gimmer from David Roberts' Boyo flock. Pen-y-Bec Belinda, bred by Glyndwr Arrowsmith, is by Sams Yama and sold carrying twins to Hackney Boyo, to join Victoria and Gill Bowring's Wind-mill flock from Mansfield .
