Blue Texel sheep met with a top price of 3200gns at the society's in lamb show and sale in Carlisle, with many of the day's lead prices coming from Stasa Moyse's Saltire Blue flock from Woolhillock, Skene, Aberdeenshire.

The sale topping female was the pre-sale show champion, an imported gimmer by Vissers-Rutten. She is in lamb to Beili Blues Peter, a tup that has sired sons to 4500gns this year. The buyers were Messrs Cooke, Llantilio Crossenny, Abergaveny.

The Saltire Blue flock also produced the day's second top price of 2700gns, paid by Messrs Graham, Blairdrummond, Stirling, for Kingscaird Ba Ba, a gimmer by Powerfull, bred from an imported Kingscaird ewe. She is in lamb to Saltire Blue A Topper, a tup which stood second at last year's Highland Show.

The next lot in the ring from the same home, Kingscaird Baby Bumpkin, another gimmer by Powerfull and in lamb to the same sire, made 1600gns to Jimmy and Graeme Sinclair, Crookston, Herriot, Midlothian.

Saltire Blue Bootilicious, attracted a 1300gns bid in a sale to Messrs Barker, Mordon, Sedgefield, Co Durham. By Hackney Your Joking, this entry is in lamb to Dragon Blues Buster, while another from Ms Moyse's flock, an imported ewe by a Belgian sire and in lamb to an imported sire made 1100gns to Messrs Hartley, Roughlee, Nelson, Lancashire.

Matching the 1100gns sale were two gimmers from David Alexander, Millside, Galston. The first, by Sams Yuno sold to Messrs Mair, Waterbeck, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, while another by the same sire sold to Messrs Douglas, Yarrow, Selkirk.
