Entries from Paul and Tippetts and Christine Williams' Hackney flock from Shropshire, dominated most of the proceedings at Sapphire Blue Texel sale at Carlisle, producing the top six prices.

Dearest at 3000gns on two occasions were full ET gimmers by Joe's Alvin and out of Hackney Yessaintlaurent. Both sold in lamb to a Turbo Blue sire with the first purchased by Messrs Jewitt, Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle, and the second bought by Messrs Hamilton, Chapelton, Strathaven.

Another Hackney gimmer made 2600gns to Messrs Dodd, Mouswald, Dumfries. A full sister to this year's champion at the Royal Welsh, she is also by Joe's Alvin but out of Hackney Xtra-Special.

Making 2400gns was a Hackney ewe lamb by Joe's Alvin, out of Hackney Yikes. It was purchased by Messrs Pyman, Stainton, Penrith, Cumbria.

Messrs Jewitt then paid 2200gns for a Joe's Alvin-sired gimmer out of Hackney Yes Girl, another in lamb to the Turbo Blue tup.

The Whatmore flock of Steve and Sara Gibbons from Tregoyd, Brecon, saw a top price of 2000gns. This was paid for Whatmore Beechnut, a gimmer by Whatmore Wasp out of Whatmore Vixen. She sold in lamb to Cleenagh Congressman, to Robert Cockburn, Errol, Perthshire.

Top price for Dan and Janine Jones' Jonsland flock from Tregynon, Wales, was 1400gns paid for Jonsland Blueberry. A Whatmore Wasp daughter, out of Jonsland Yeva, she was bought by Messrs Graham, Blairdrummond, Stirling.
