ONLY four lots were able to find new homes at a breed show and sale of pedigree Simmentals at Carlisle, where the catalogued entry of 17 head peaked at 3800gns for a bull from Jim and Patricia Goldie's Newbiemains herd from Annan.

Their Newbiemains Infusion 17, a June 2017-born son of Newbiemains Golden Eye 15 Ex91, is bred from the VG88-classified Dirnanean Meise G9, and sold to Messrs Straughan, Dalton, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Lead female at 1900gns was the reserve female champion, Chestermann Data Michelle 3, from Nick Gwynne, Castlewigg, Whithorn. Heading home with Messrs Bell, Throphill, Morpeth, was a May 2017-born heifer by Overhill House Data 12 – a former junior male champion at the Highland Show in 2013.

The three heifers sold averaged £1785.
