Aberdeenshire beef cattle producers, David Stephen and Son, Kirkton, Forglen, Turriff, forked out the lead price amongst the females of 3400gns at a recent show and sale of pedigree British Blues, at Skipton.
Selling at this price was the second prize winner, Hawksbridge Katherine, a Mountjoy Utopia daughter out of College Valley Greta. Bred by the Fox family, and consigned by Richard and Elizabeth Ibbotson, Stairs Bottom, Oxenhope, Katherine sold with March-born heifer calf at foot, Hawksbridge Oreo, by Tweeddale Ebony.
Also heading north up to Kirkton Farm at 2000gns was the maiden heifer, High Moss Nora, a 16-month-old daughter of Farouk de St Amand, from Jack and Rebecca Wallbank, Keasden. She is out of Tamhorn Georgia.
Top price was 4600gns paid for the two-year-old bull, Greystone Money, from Alan and Graham Coates, Rainscar, Stainforth. A son of Almeley Ginola, he sold to the Hartley family in Beamsley for their dairy herd.
The Coates family also received 4000gns for a similarly aged bull, Greystone Mastercard purchased by Tim Metcalfe, Clayton, Bradford.
