Star attraction was Bidlea Ditton Papoose GP83-2yr and SP, a four-year-old Holstein that calved her second at the end of May and is giving 49kg. Consigned by Ray Brown and Partners, this Kirkblythe Ditto daughter bred from a home-bred Ex91 and SP cow, was knocked down to A and A May, Worcester

Top price amongst the heifers was £1880 paid for Twemlow Reward, from RWM and PM Barnett, Twemlow, Holmes Chapel. She sold 16days calved and giving 31.2kg to Bowdler Farms, Shrewsbury.

Two heifers sold for £1850 included KJ Morris' Winfarthing Gerwyn Judith 249, which calved at the beginning of May and changed hands giving

36kg daily to JW Gleave, Sproston.

Matching that price tag was EV and B Boughey's Rainborough Albania Lodfan from Tarporley, which sold giving the same amount of milk to the Platt Bros of Knutsford.

Jersey cows sold to £850 for an entry from Bar’M Jerseys, within-calf heifers from this home realising £1020 for Bar-M Stag Misty.

Served heifers peaked at £1220 for E and M Pearce, Whitmore.

Castle Douglas producers, TR Heuchan and Sons, bought the top priced lot from the Londendale Jersey dispersal of Mark Cheetham, Hyde, Cheshire, forking out 1220gns for Longendale Principal Lena VG87-3yr. This rising four-year-old by Bayview Jupiter Principal, sold having calved her second mid April and giving 27kg per day.

Averages: In-milk heifers of all breeds and all faults, £1620; in-milk cows, £1580.
