Peter Baul's Ravensgate Holstein herd picked up a second championship win of the year at Skipton Auction Mart's monthly dairy show and sale, on Monday.
His show stopper, Ravensgate Pesky Heather 377, a heifer paraded 11 days calved and giving 30litres per day is by Welcome Armitage Pesky and sold for the top price of £1900 to Hartley family, Beamsley.
Judge Pete Dakin, Bolton-by-Bowland, found his reserve winner in an entry from the same home. Ravensgate Whiterock Marigold 217, by Mars Whitelock, calved 26 days previously and was shown giving 32litres. She made £1650 selling to Roger and Sam Naylor in Middleton, Ilkley.
Second top price was £1750 for the third prize fresh heifer from South Stainley’s Robin Jennings. His commercial entry, by Fantasmic, sold giving 32litres to H Goodall and Sons in Tong, Bradford.
In-calf heifers peaked at £1560 from Richard and David Verity, of Grewelthorpe.
