Goldies Nadine, a two-year-old heifer from Hamish Goldie's Dumfries-shire Charolais herd has been sold for £10,000 in a private deal with Botswanian-based Clive Marshall.

Mr Marshall, who was buying for his mother-in-law, Patricia Johnson Hill's new Berrington herd in Hereford, also bought a further six Charolais heifers from Mr Goldie all of which are sired by Gretnahouse Heman – a 15,000gns purchase that has bred more than 120 progeny

The dam, Goldies Goldengirl, by the Dingle Hofmeister son, Goldies Ambassador, is a full sister to Goldies Promise.

Commenting on his purchases after twice visiting some of the leading herds in the UK, Mr Marshallsaid: “Our basis for selecting these seven heifers was on the fact that Heman has consistently delivered bulls with high end performance and high end sale averages for the Goldie’s herd.

"When I saw Goldies Nadine, her dam Goldies Goldengirl and her full sister Goldies Promise I knew I had to try and buy her as part of the package.”
