More than 200 dairy cattle were forward at Borderway's monthly sale where milking animals sold to average £1677 – an increase of £177 on the month.
Topping the trade at £2050 was Bankview Murray Una, a second calved cow consigned by Mark Walton from Kirkby Stephen. She is by Bowberhill Murray and sold giving 50kg per day to J Rae, Boghead, Collin, Dumfries.
Gavin Struthers' Balcurvie Holstein herd from Windygates, Fife, sold 15 heifers to a top of £1980 for Wragmire Germyen Ella sired by Bossman. She sold giving 34kg to Bowdler Farms, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Andrew Graves from Home Farm, Tallentire, sold seven heifers to average £1741 with two selling for £1950 each to R and L Austin, Ingleston Hill, New Abbey, Dumfries and Messrs Carlyle, Longtown, Carlisle, respectively.
British Friesians sold to £1850 on two occasions from Messrs Williamson, Howes Farm, Appleby and the Baynes family from Hexham topped the Dairy Shorthorn section at £1850 with Marleycote Sapphire.
In-calf heifers averaged £1380 selling to £1500 twice for heifers consigned by D Graham from South Lambhill near Longtown and the Woodburn family from Killoch, Galston, sold 27 Ayrshire bulling heifers to a top of £820 on several occasions for daughters of Willsbro Is-Red and Changue Stadium.
