Knock Crackerjack, a February-born Texel ram lamb, has been sold for £30,000 in a private deal between two North-east Scotland breeders.

The lamb, which was bred by George Howie, West Knock, Stuartfield, Peterhead, caught the eye of Kenny Pratt, who has purchased him for his Hilltop flock, based at Peterculter.

He is sired by the 28,000gns Knock Banker, which sold last year to the Knap and Nochnary flocks, with a share retained. The dam is HAK1500831, a home-bred daughter of Cowal Vogue, a ram that has bred sons to 24,000gns.

Crackerjack’s two full bothers are bound for next week's breed sale at Lanark .
