Craig Wilson sold 2548 sheep at their first sale of store lambs, Mule gimmers and Mule ewe lambs.

The champion pen of Mule ewe gimmers was awarded to Messrs G S Wilson, Glenhead which realised £142. However, it was the reserve pen that came out on top at £162 from Messrs J Paterson, East Dykes Farm.

Store lambs peaked at £68 for Texel's from Dinwoodie.

Thainstone

A steady trade was met at Aberdeen and Northern marts' sale of store lambs where trade peaked at £70 for Texel's from Burnside Poultry Unit, Little Clinterty.

Beltex' were just being selling to £69 from Pitlundie Farm.

Lanark

A large number of store lambs were forward for Lawrie and Symington's sale where trade peaked at £68 for the first prize pen in the pre-sale show of strong Texel lambs from McGregor, Chesterhall Parks.

Second prize was awarded to a pen of Roussin from the same home realising £67.50. MacDougall, Muirhouse picked up the third prize ticket for a pen of North Country Cheviots peaking at £60.

More than 2350 store lambs were forward for Hexham and Northern marts' sale selling to £95 for a Beltex cross from TR and EA Milburn, Wallend Farm.

Mule lamb trade peaked at £64 from Messrs J Lee and Sons Agars Hill.

Texel's led the way at Caledonian marts' sale of store lambs where trade peaked at £72 from C Hastie, Easter Gartfarran.

All classes of lambs would be 2-3kg lighter than previous sales, resulting in an overall drop in averages by £2-£3.

Harrison and Hetherington's sale topped at £88 for a Texel cross lamb from Messrs Watson, Sanderson House, Whitehaven.

A large number of entries were forward for C and D auction marts' weekly sale of 4638 store lambs.

Incorporated in the sale was the annual show and sale of Mule lambs, where the champion pen was awarded to North of England Mules from GW and C Athey and Son, High Lovelady Shield later selling to £64.

However, top price of the day went to a Cheviot Mule from Shepherds Cottage which sold to £81 whilst Texels were just behind at £80 from High A
