Texel gimmers from East Arndarroch, Dalry, topped C and D Auction Marts' show and sale of Scotch Mule ewe lambs and gimmers at Dumfries, with a pen selling for £160 per head.

The sale of 2439 Scotch Mule gimmers was topped by the reserve pen from Coatston, Dunscore, which realised £152. The champion winners, selected by the judge, David Morgan, Hereford, were consigned by R Carruthers, Merkland, and realised £150.

Champion amongst the Scotch Mule ewe lambs was a pen from A and A Kirkpatrick, Barr, which realised £94.

Overall, the 2439 Scotch Mule gimmers averaged £130.95 (+£1.14 on the year) with 1053 Scotch Mule ewe lambs at £87.19 (-£4.52).
