At this week's Blackface ewe lamb sale at Lanark, held by Lawrie and Symington, the 4801 lambs sold to average £85.66, which was up by 18p on the year.
The top price of £2100 per head (see video) went to a pen of three from Hugh and Alan Blackwood, Auldhouseburn, Muirkirk, welling to Cobys Farm, Co Donegal.
Others sold to £800 per head for two from Mary McCall Smith, Connachan, to Neil and Stuart Barclay, Harestone, Banchory, and £750 each for a pen of three from Dalblair to J McCurdy, NI.
