A big crowd of buyers ensured a strong trade for all ages of stock at the dispersal of Chris and Barbara Bradley’s on-farm Brimrock Holstein dispersal at Hartwith, just outside Harrogate, which saw a top price of 2600gns paid for a third calver.

Selling at this price was Brimrock Daisy 87, a Zelgadis daughter giving 53kg per day purchased by J and RA Hunter, Otley.

Just behind, on 2400gns, Ben Letts bought Brimrock Kareen 35, a Welcome Glenton-sired female and one of 14 lots purchased at the sale for his Clapton herd from Bristol.

Included in that lorryload at 2300gns was Brimrock Daisy 96, a daughter the French-bred Jose son, Fantasy Orageux.

Matching the 2400gns bid was the freshly calved Brimrock Fantasmic Rime, bought by Will Oldfield of the Whinhill herd from Painley, Gisburn

Served heifers due from September to March averaged £1340 with a top of 1650gns given for an October calving daughter of ABS Grazie. She was one of 20 quality cattle purchased by RWL Francis from Oswestry.

Young stock met a strong demand with bulling heifers/yearlings averaging almost £1000 apiece with a top price of 1180gns and 12 passing the 4-figure barrier.

Calves at foot peaked at 650gns for a five-month-old daughter of Co-Op Robust Jitterbug.
