Aberdeenshire flockmasters – William and Carole Ingram, sons Gregor and Bruce and daughter Amy – Logie Durno, Pitcaple, topped the cross-bred section for the second consecutive year, selling a shearling ram for £3200.
Their big tup, a home-bred Durno ram bred from generations of cross breeding Logie Durno Charollais and Texel sheep together, sold to Steven and Louise Buckley, Sittinglow, Buxton.
Second top price was £1700 paid for a Beltex cross Texel shearling from Procters Farm, Wennington, Lancaster, purchased by Messrs Davies, Nanttir. He was brought out by flockmasters, Jeff and Jennifer Aiken.
Three others sold at £1500 apiece to include a Texel cross from Jonathan Wales, Thackwood, Carlisle, purchased by JP and CM Jones, Machynlleth, Powys.
Two Beltex cross shearlings from Lanarkshire breeders also made £1500 to include an entry from JW Gibb, Toftcombs, Biggar, purchased by L Wales and another from A Taylor, Heatheryhall, also Biggar, bought by D Wales.
