Texels met the best clearance of the day at 94% at Caledonian Marts' show and sale of 221 breeding rams at Stirling on Tuesday.
However, while also sold relatively well, overall averages were back on the year with shearlings down £25 per head and ram lambs back £12.
By the end of the day Texel shearling and ram lambs averaged £375 and £221 down £50 and £11 per head on the year while Beltex and Beltex cross tups slipped £10 to average £350.
Bluefaced Leicester shearlings enjoyed the best trade, rising £38, to £488.
Top price was £900 paid for the champion Bluefaced Leicester, a shearling from R McNee, Woodend, who also sold the reserve and lead priced Texel, a shearling at £720.
The champion Texel from Robin Orr, Halbeath, a shearling ram, made £650.
