Roderick Runciman's Allanshaws flock from Galashiels again topped the North Country Cheviots, producing the lead five prices and the highest average at £868 for 11.
Mr Runciman who runs 280 ewes pure with a further 400 for crossing to the Bluefaced Leicester, topped the trade at £1500 with a shearling son of the £4500 Synton Vital Spark, out of a ewe by Pengroes Rob Roy, purchased by Stimson Farming, Milton Keynes.
Just behind on £1200, local producer, W McQuat, Brockhouse, Heriot, bought a shearling by Allanshaws Triple 20, a Synton Bullseye son that stood first in his class at the Highland in 2016.
Two Allanshaws shearlings made £1100 to include another by Vital Spark, purchased by regular buyer, Willie Barr, Hallhill, Fife. The second, by Allanshaws Trademark, was knocked down to ST Walton, Northumberland.
Averages: 28 shearling rams, £611.79 (+£105.54 for 12 fewer sold).
